In planning the non-mobile Infant Program , we keep in mind that these little explorers are unique. They have special ways of learning about their social, psychological and physical environment, all three of which are responsible for their learning and development.
As the teachers plan and implement the program, they keep the five (5) developmental domains in mind;

THEME 1 SENSORY PHYSICAL
I Love To Move
My objectives are to:
• Develop my muscle strength in my head, arms and legs
• Gain experience with body movement
• View the world from a variety of positions
My vocabulary enrichment will include: Feet, hands, move, stomach, ride, rocking, chair

THEME 2 SOCIAL
Seeing Is Believing
My objectives are to:
• Focus on faces and objects
• Gain experiences in watching moving objects
• Use my vision to learn about my surroundings
My vocabulary will be enriched by the addition of: Eyes, face, look, mobile, see Field Trip: To the outdoors I go Look out for a letter from my teacher about “Seeing is Believing.

THEME 3 EMOTIONAL
When I Touch I Learn Better
My objectives are to:
• Experience my learning environment hands-on .
• Indicate a preference or dislike for certain types of objects I touch.
• Seek out, touch, input with my body.
My language will be enriched by adding: Cuddle, hands, hold, soft, touch

THEME 4 LANGUAGE
Soft Sounds and High Pitched Soothing Voices Please My Ears
My objectives are to:
• Experience a variety of soothing sounds and steady beat music
• Develop my sense of hearing
• Make sense of the spoken language put to me in regular not baby language
Enrich my language with such words as: Voice, ears, listen, music, sound
Await my teacher’s letter about my sense of hearing.

THEME 5 COGNITIVE
I Enter the World of Oral Language, Books, Print and Literature
My objectives include:
• Listening to and responding to the oral language of my teachers
• The opportunity to see and touch interesting books
• Listening to books, poems and literature
Please advance my vocabulary with such words as: Book, picture, read, smile, talk, speak
Look out for my teachers letter about language learning
